    Abstract: This study contributes to the empirical analysis of specific distances in knowledge spillover effects. We propose a geographical distance-based approach to precisely measure the proximity of knowledge spillover from a university's research activities to high-tech startups in surrounding regions. Most current research measuring knowledge spillover typically use states and cities as the statistical caliber, making it difficult to capture the exact extent of knowledge spillover within cities. In this study, we constructed panel data for Japan for 1998-2018 by dividing the research area into 1*1 km2 meshes and geocoding firms (high-tech startups and firms without patents), university patents, and paper data, and subsequently using each mesh as the basic unit. Additionally, variables containing geographical proximity information were calculated by constructing multiple buffers for each mesh. Our findings show that i) the spillover effects of university research attenuate with distance - rapidly within a 2 km range, and slowly thereafter; and ii) patents are more private and localized than papers. The knowledge spillover effect of university patents attenuates more rapidly with distance.

    Abstract: Digital transformation is a stark reality that affects all Moroccan companies of all sizes and sectors. Similarly, all activities are impacted by this digital trend, from which companies cannot escape in a future where people and objects are constantly interconnected. Our article takes a positivist epistemological stance by adopting a quantitative, hypothetico-deductive approach. The objective of our article is to predict a model that evaluates the contribution of digital transformation to organizational performance through processes in industrial companies. To do so, we mobilized several theories and models based on a recent literature review. In this regard, the IT Business Value model, based on resource theory and developed by Melville and al., was used as an analytical framework. Ultimately, we constructed a conceptual model composed of seven constructs: digital resources, complementary resources, digital transformation, business processes, process performance and organisational performance. Our selected research model will be empirically tested through a sample of (380) Moroccan industrial companies.
    Abstract: La transformation digitale est une réalité cinglante qui touche toutes les entreprises marocaines de toutes tailles et de tous secteurs confondus. De même, toutes les activités sont concernées par cette tendance digitale à laquelle les entreprises ne peuvent échapper d'un futur où les personnes et les objets sont constamment interconnectés. Notre article s'inscrit dans une posture épistémologique positiviste en adoptant une approche quantitative de type hypothéticodéductive. L'objectif de notre article est de prédire un modèle permettant d'évaluer la contribution de la transformation digitale à la performance organisationnelle à travers les processus dans les entreprises industrielles. Pour ce faire, nous avons mobilisé plusieurs théories et modèles en se basant sur une revue de littérature récente. A cet égard, le modèle IT Business Value basé sur la théorie des ressources et développé par Melville et al., a été utilisé comme un cadre d'analyse. In fine, nous avons construit un modèle conceptuel composé de sept construits en l'occurrence : ressources digitales, ressources complémentaires, transformation digitale, processus d'affaires, performance des processus et performance organisationnelle. Notre modèle de recherche retenu sera testé empiriquement par le biais d'un échantillon de (380) entreprises industrielles marocaines.
