  1. This paper replicates, evaluates and updates the papers that estimate the long run impact of experiencing war on life satisfaction using the Life in Transition Survey. We show that the conflicting conclusions of 5 published studies can be replicated, but also that these conclusions are very sensitive to specification choices the authors made. Overall, we find little evidence supporting a causal long-term effect of war experience on life satisfaction. By Jemesa Landers; Tom Coupé; Andrea Menclova
