    Abstract: Culture is more and more considered as an important driver of tourism. However, it is critical, for policymakers, to evaluate the potential returns from investments in culture and generally cultural offer, in particular in multiregion settings with a potentially inefficient distribution of cultural offer. Our paper focuses on the role of distance (between the tourist’s origin and destination regions) in mediating the tourism impact of cultural offer. This research question is investigated by means of a spatial interaction model, applied to the case of Italian domestic tourism. We find that distance indeed matters: a destination’s endowment in culture appears to be more attractive for long-distance tourists, while an origin region’s endowment seems to dinsincentivate long-distance trips to a greater extent.

    Abstract: Jamendo is a website for the legal, free downloading of music. This platform of "free" online music, the biggest in the world, operates on the basis of Creative Commons licences. The survey presented here was carried out on a sample of 767 artists (solo musicians or groups) who are members of Jamendo. Our purpose in carrying out this survey was to identify as precisely as possible the characteristics of the artists present on Jamendo and the type of CC licence they choose in order to better understand the motives for their choices. To go further, the question is that of the Jamendo business model from the artists' point of view. Does Jamendo simply represent a great opportunity for amateurs to showcase their music and win an audience? Or is Jamendo also capable of attracting professional artists, for whom earning an income from their music is essential ? To put it another way, the underlying question is whether platforms like Jamendo constitute a possible alternative model for the music industry of tomorrow.

    Abstract: The paper analyzes ethical-behavioral categories of the contemporary Orthodox ecclesiastic culture in Russia to determine the correlation of the cultural paradigms of "oppression" and "empowerment" therein. The main emphasis is placed on revealing oppressive stereotypes, social action imperatives, social regulators present in the cultural model of Russian Orthodoxy which condition the processes opposing the "empowerment" strategy and reducing its social capital. The hypothesis proposed by the author in this paper is that the key socio-cultural attitude conditioning the system of oppressive-restrictive stereotypes of behavior in the ecclesiastic milieu is the prevalence of the awareness of culpability in the modern ecclesiastic ethos, a certain "culture of guilt". In this connection the author pays most attention to the category of "guilt" and its discontent in Orthodoxy.
