    Abstract: We summarise Runge-Kutta type methods for the solution of ordinary differential equations in models of economic dynamics. In this work we are going to present explicit Runge-Kutta type methods, a family of methods to solve numerically systems of ordinary differential equations, without the need to evaluate high-order derivatives. We apply this numerical approach to solve a dynamic, general equilibrium growth model of North-South technological-knowledge diffusion by imitation.

    Abstract: In this paper, we examine the possibility of quickly deciding whether or not an instance of a binary knapsack problem is difficult for branch and bound algorithms. We first observe that the distribution of the objective function values is smooth and unimodal. We define a measure of difficulty of solving knapsack problems through branch and bound algorithms, and examine the relationship between the degree of correlation between profit and cost values, the skewness of the distribution of objective function values and the difficulty in solving weakly correlated binary knapsack problems. We see that the even though it is unlikely that an exact relationship exists for individual problem instances, some aggregate relationships may be observed.     Abstract: Depuis plusieurs années, le Maroc s’est inscrit dans une nouvelle dynamique de politiques économiques dont la libéralisation à tous les niveaux et l’attraction des investissements directs étrangers dans plusieurs secteurs d’activité. L’impact économique et social de ces politiques devait être quantifié et analysé selon plusieurs dimensions. Dans ce travail, nous nous plaçons dans ce contexte d’analyse et nous proposons une approche basée sur un Modèle Calculable d’Équilibre Général micro-simulé de l’économie marocaine. Cette analyse nous à permis de conclure qu’une politique favorisant le secteur du tourisme serait dominante. Ce résultat nous semble important capital puisque les autorités marocaines ont déclaré de façon très explicite que ce secteur est au centre de leur stratégie de développement en visant un nombre de dix millions de touriste d’ici 2010.
